Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Zhytomyr municipality is a big logistical hub located 130 km from Kyiv, on the main highways to the EU. Its economy is built on manufacturing, food and textile industries, woodworking, and IT. The city is a well-known leader in green energy, working on energy efficiency and solar or biomass power. It also has great universities and has hosted thousands of displaced people who now work and live there.
