Zabolottsi municipality, situated within the Zolochiv district in the eastern part of Lviv region, administers 19 settlements, including its administrative centre of Zabolottsi and the key hubs of Yaseniv and Pidhirtsi. The local economy features a highly successful, export-ready agrarian ecosystem that accounts for approximately 80% of its 252 registered business entities. Managing over 12,000 hectares of productive agricultural land, the municipality is nationally renowned for its pioneering model of agricultural service cooperatives, particularly in the dairy sector via ASC "Pokrova", and hosts established agro-industrial enterprises like LLC "K-Agroinvest Trade" and PE "Agrofirma Lugove." This agricultural dominance is balanced by an environmentally pristine profile, where 41% of the territory is forested and 3,000 hectares are preserved within the "Northern Podillia" National Nature Park.
Beyond agribusiness, Zabolottsi possesses world-class cultural assets of national and international significance, most notably the 17th-century Pidhirtsi Castle (the "Galician Versailles"), the ancient Slavic archeological reserve of Davniy Plisnesk, and the 18th-century Basilian Monastery. Free from heavy industry, the local council is actively seeking strategic partnerships with international organisations and donors to address targeted infrastructure gaps. Key opportunities for impactful technical cooperation include the construction of centralised water treatment facilities, the establishment of sustainable solid waste management systems, and the modernisation of municipal road networks to fully unlock the region’s green tourism and agro-processing potential.
