Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
The city of Tokmak is located in Zaporizhzhia region of southeastern Ukraine and historically served as a vital agricultural, industrial, and transport hub for the area. Due to the ongoing russian invasion, the municipality has experienced temporary occupation and severe destruction, heavily impacting its critical infrastructure, economy, and the local population. Despite these immense challenges, the local authorities are committed to sustaining the municipality, tracking wartime damages, and preparing extensive strategies for future restoration. Following its eventual de-occupation, the municipality aims to attract international investment to rebuild its social services, modernise its industrial base, and safely return its displaced residents.
