After two and a half years of russian captivity, the body of the dead Oleksii Mykolayovych Vynnychenko was returned to the village of Hrebenikivka, Sumy region.

Oleksii Vynnychenko was elected as a head of the village two times, and after the village joined the Boromlia village municipality, he was elected starosta of the village of Hrebenykyvka in Sumy region.

Oleksii Mykolaiovych took care of his village. He helped everyone and even during the occupation he never left people alone with the aggressor.

The Association of Ukrainian Cities expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends, and Hrebenyky starosta district of Boromlia village municipality.

The memory of Oleksii Vynnychenko will be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and worked with him.

Oleksandr Babych, Hola Prystan City Mayor (Kherson region),

Ihor Kolykhaiev, Kherson City Mayor,

Yevhenii Matvieiev, Dniprorudne City Mayor, Zaporizhzhia region,

Anatolii Siryi, Starosta of Novi Borovychi starosta district, Snovsk city municipality (Chernihiv region).

The Association of Ukrainian Cities urges everyone to join in the release of the abducted mayors and starosta.
