Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
It is a post-coal municipality that has faced challenges in ensuring economic stability and social well-being of its residents after the closure of coal mines. In response, the municipality is actively implementing a just transition policy, supporting entrepreneurship development, and working to create new opportunities for local people.
It is located just three kilometres from the border with the Republic of Poland, which creates strong logistical opportunities for economic development, attracting investment, and international cooperation.
Novovolynsk continues its transformation with a focus on business development — more than 4,000 business entities are registered in the municipality.
Over the past two years, the municipality has attracted more than UAH 440 million in donor funding.
In 2022, the first industrial park in Volyn region — “NOVO” — was launched in Novovolynsk municipality. Covering 20 hectares, it will operate in the food cluster sector. This is a key tool for economic growth and the creation of new "green" jobs.
In 2023, Novovolynsk municipality received a special distinction signed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, for its support and contribution to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
