Additional peculiarities of the municipality:

Cherkasy is the administrative centre of the Cherkasy region, which is mainly agricultural. The economy of Cherkasy is industrial in nature. The industrial sector is represented by 658 industrial enterprises, including more than 100 large and medium-sized ones. 

The activity of the majority of industrial enterprises is concentrated in the processing industry, specifically in food production, metal processing, chemical and pharmaceutical production. The construction industry, trade, IT and creative businesses also play a key role in economic development. The structure of the industrial complex of Cherkasy is mainly focused on the internal market. 

Small businesses also have an important impact on the development of the municipality's economy. The municipality has about 4,000 small businesses and 2,1852 individual entrepreneurs.

During martial law in Ukraine, 62 legal entities and 94 individual entrepreneurs were relocated to Cherkasy territorial community from the territories where hostilities are (were) conducted or temporarily occupied.
