Five local government officials are in russian captivity:

• Oleksandr Babych – НоІа Prystan city mayor (Kherson region),
• Oleksii Vynnychenko – starosta of Hrebenykivka starosta district of Boromlia village municipality (Sumy region),
• lhor Kolykhayev – Kherson city mayor,
• Yevheniy Matveev – Dniprorudne city mayor (Zaporizhzhia region),
• Anatolii Siryi – starosta of Novi Borovychi starosta district of Snovsk city municipality (Chernihiv region).

Association of Ukrainian Cities has been systematically working to release captured local government officials - since the outbreak of the full-scale invasion, 55 officials have been abducted, and five people remain outside the government-controlled territory, for whose release the Association of Ukrainian Cities and its international partners are uniting their efforts.
